Wooden Boat Hauling Crab Pots at Dawn

Pale gray light spreads across the water surface near a kelp-fringed shelf off the Barcelona coast. A weathered wooden fishing boat sits low in the exceptionally clear water, viewed from behind. Thick ropes hang from the stern, extending downward to pull submerged crab pots. Green kelp fronds drift beside the hull, bobbing with slow-moving surface ripples. The early summer sky remains overcast, casting soft, diffused illumination on the rough timber and dark ropes. Dark shapes of the pots move gently beneath the glassy surface. One knot on the rope catches the light, revealing the rough texture of the hemp fiber against the smooth wood.
