Winter Sunset Shot Putter at Istanbul Harbor
Golden light spills across the Bosphorus as a shot putter stands in the concrete circle, back arched and mouth open in a roar. Heavy winter coats drape over shoulders, their hems fluttering violently in the whipping harbor wind. The athlete's face is flushed, skin pulled tight against the cold air, while the sea behind churns with dark, choppy waves. Weathered stone walls line the harbor edge, stained by salt and time. The sun dips low, casting long, sharp shadows that stretch across the rough pavement. The heavy iron ball gleams briefly in the athlete's hand before the final push, a small, cold sphere against the vast, darkening water and the silhouette of distant city lights. A final ripple breaks against the wet stones at the circle's edge.
