Early morning light breaks over the Fremantle coastline, cutting through a brief winter sun shower that hangs low in the grey sky. The retired ballerina stands with her hair pulled into a tight grey bun, her bone structure highlighted by the soft, directional rays of sunrise. Raindrops glisten on her weathered skin, catching the golden warmth as they fall. She wears a heavy coat suited for the dead of winter, its texture rough against the delicate lines of her face. In the foreground, blurred greenery frames the shot, adding depth without obscuring her dignified presence. The wet ground reflects the pale sky, at the base of the figure in the damp, cool air of the Australian coast. One droplet clings to her cheekbone, catching the light.
