Soft gray light from an overcast nautical dawn washes over the weathered face of an older man standing near Toledo. A heavy white towel drapes over his left shoulder, against the dark, heavy wool of his winter coat. The air shimmers with a visible heat haze rising from the frozen ground, distorting the background slightly. His skin shows deep lines and age spots, illuminated by the diffuse light. He stands at the edge of the frame, looking off into the distance with a still, intense expression. The towel hangs limp, its texture rough and worn against the smooth cold air. A small patch of frost rests on the collar of his coat.
