White Stupas Inside Yangon Mosque at Dusk

Rich amber sunset light fills the prayer hall of a mosque in Chinatown, Yangon, casting a copper tone across the interior. Rows of small white stupas stand in neat lines along the polished floor, their bell-shaped forms and spires catching the glow. The rainy season air hangs heavy, visible only as a soft haze within the warm beams. Deep shadows stretch across the tiles where the light does not reach, while the architectural lines of the room draw toward the back wall. The white surfaces of the stupas reflect the setting sun, creating a stark contrast against the darker corners of the space. A sharp edge of a stupa base rests against the cool gray grout line at the foreground.
