White Ceramic Mug in Rome

A white ceramic mug sits on the rough stone sill of a window overlooking the waking streets of Rome just after sunrise. The early morning light casts long, soft shadows across the rim, highlighting the slight chipping on the handle and the steam rising faintly into the cool air. Behind the mug, the window frame is painted a faded ochre, against the deep blue of the morning sky visible through the glass. One drop of condensation rests on the inside of the window pane, distorting the view of the terracotta rooftops outside.
