Wet Terrace in Havana

Mist rests on the peeling pastel stucco of a colonial balcony in Old Havana, where damp air softens the harsh geometry of rusted iron railings. A woman in a faded floral housecoat sweeps the wet concrete terrace with a straw broom, her movements rhythmic against the gray morning. Beside her, a hammock hangs loosely between columns, its fabric damp and heavy, while soap streaks run down the nearby white tiles like frozen tears.
