Weathered Wooden Deck Chair in Melbourne

A worn wooden deck chair sits alone on the concrete veranda of a weatherboard cottage in Melbourne under the flat grey light of an overcast midday. The slats of the chair are faded to a pale grey, showing the grain of the timber where the paint has long since worn away. Behind the chair, a corrugated iron roof reflects the dull sky, while a potted fern in a chipped terracotta pot rests on the adjacent step. One loose screw lies on the concrete near the chair leg, catching the diffused light.
