Water Hyacinth Choking Tropical Waterway Near Singapore

Steel-blue ambient light washes over a dense mat of water hyacinth, their thick waxy leaves overlapping in chaotic layers that block the water's surface. Along the salt-sprayed cliff edge, the green mass contrasts sharply against the dark, still water below. The city lights in the distance begin to glow with warm orange points, visible through the gaps in the foliage. A perfectly clear sky stretches overhead, deepening the cool tones of the evening. In the foreground, individual stems rise vertically, their bulbous bases swollen with water, while the background dissolves into a soft blur of dark water and distant urban illumination. The texture of the leaves shows fine veins and a slight sheen from the humid air.
