Vintage Astrolabe on Ogbomosho Workbench

Brass and steel components of an astrolabe rest on a dark, worn wooden workbench under the glow of a single archival lamp. The instrument's intricate rings catch the cool, blue twilight filtering from outside, mixing with the warm, artificial light from the overhead fixture. Soft reflections shimmer across the polished metal surfaces and the adjacent wooden shelf of the collection cabinet. The turn of the season is visible in the slight dust settling on the edges of the frame. Neon hues from a distant sign reflect faintly on the curved arm of the device, creating a subtle contrast against the deep brown grain of the wood. The tight framing isolates the object, showing the texture of the aged metal against the smooth, polished surface of the bench.
