A narrow, shadowed alcove of a Florentine bottega reveals a cluttered workbench where the afternoon sun cuts a sharp, warm diagonal across dusty shelves. On the scarred wooden surface, a cluster of dark purple figs rests near a worn leather clothes brush, their skins catching the light with a faint, natural sheen. Behind them, a brass candlestick stands unused, its base stained with old wax, against the rough, water-darkened grout of the tiled backsplash.
