Tibetan Thukpa Bowl with Giant Tree Flower

Steam rises from a ceramic bowl filled with Tibetan thukpa noodle soup, chunks of yak meat resting among wide wheat noodles in a dark broth. North-window sidelight cuts across the table, casting long, muted reflections on the polished floor below. Beside the bowl, a single flower has grown to the height of a tree, its trunk thick as a chair leg and branches reaching toward the ceiling. The massive bloom dominates the negative space, its petals detailed and vibrant against the muted interior tones. Small tables and chairs surround the scene, showing the scale difference between the food and the impossible plant. The light highlights the texture of the broth and the rough bark of the surreal tree trunk.
