Swimmer at Pula Hillside Twilight Rain
by Leo Becker
Rain streaks horizontally across the frame, blurring the green hillside near Pula into soft vertical lines. A lone swimmer stands at the edge of a dark lane, their body outlined by a sharp rim of fading twilight light. The sky above is a heavy slate gray, pressing down on the wet asphalt that reflects the dim ambient glow. The swimmer's form is deep in shadow, yet the water droplets clinging to their skin and clothing catch the last rays of sun, creating a sparkling, static texture against the moving rain. Behind them, the undulating terrain rises steeply, covered in dense, rain-slicked vegetation that appears almost black in the low light. The horizon line cuts sharply across the wide view, separating the turbulent sky from the still, dark earth. at the edge is a single bead of water rolling slowly down the swimmer's shoulder, defying the downward pull of the storm.
