A narrow alleyway in Roma Norte glows under the amber spill of a sodium streetlamp, illuminating a weathered concrete stoop where a stack of blue and white porcelain plates rests beside a cracked terracotta jar. The plates, chipped at the rims, catch the harsh artificial light, against the deep shadows pooling in the corner. One potted succulent, its fleshy leaves coated in fine dust, sits precariously on the edge of the step, backlit by the red glow of a distant brake light.
