Rain streaks blur the window of a cramped Kitsilano cafe, framing a group of students huddled over a scarred laminate table. A damp wool cardigan drapes over the back of a chair, its texture against the slick, wet pavement visible through the glass. One student laughs, gesturing with a chipped ceramic mug, while a vintage radio on the counter nearby hums faintly, its dial glowing amber against the grey dusk. Outside, a cyclist in a bright yellow raincoat pauses, water dripping from the brim of their helmet, creating a sharp splash of color against the muted urban backdrop.
