Soft, overcast light floods a backstage changing corridor in Harbin, where heavy autumn air hangs still. A wooden chair sits in the center of the frame, its legs and seat partially transformed into rough gray stone while the original wood grain remains etched into the rock surface. Cigarette smoke curls upward in dense, white ribbons, caught in the diffuse glow. Several camera flashes burst in the background, freezing the motion of smoke against the cool, concrete walls. The floor is polished concrete reflecting the muted sky. A discarded fashion magazine lies near the stone-wood hybrid, its glossy pages against the rough texture of the mineralized furniture. The negative space around the chair emphasizes the stillness of the surreal transition.
