Stall Setup in Seoul
A narrow alleyway in Seoul’s Jongno district glows with the cool, blue-white light of early morning, where the first steam rises from a street-side breakfast stall. A vendor in a faded yellow raincoat wipes down a stainless steel counter, surrounded by hanging bundles of dried red peppers and stacks of white rice bowls. The scene is framed by the heavy wooden doorframe of a traditional hanok house, its dark timber against the bright, wet asphalt. A pair of rubber boots sits near the entrance, scuffed and ready for the day, while a small glass sugar jar sits precariously on the edge of the prep table, catching the first direct rays of sun.
