Spur on Rough Timber Shelf in Ségou Twilight

Deep amber light from interior lamps mixes with cool blue twilight filtering through a window to illuminate a metal spur resting on a rough-hewn wooden shelf. The timber surface shows deep gouges and weathered grain, its texture highlighted by the dim glow. Dust particles hang in the narrow shafts of light falling across the shelf edge. The spur sits firmly against the wood, its polished shank reflecting the mixed warm and cool tones. Dark shadows occupy the corners of the frame while the rowels catch the light at the edge of the wood. Dried mud stains mark the bottom of the heel, against the smooth metal curves.
