Sprayer Stand in Szczecin Morning Fog in inside a taped-off excavation edge in Szczecin

Sprayer Stand in Szczecin Morning Fog

by Matthew Ashley

First light falls through the pale morning fog to illuminate a yellow curing compound sprayer stand positioned at the taped-off edge of an excavation site in Szczecin. The metal frame rests on damp, gravelly ground near concrete formwork and scaffold mesh. Safety tape in alternating orange and white stripes marks the boundary between the work zone and the open trench. The early sun catches the rough texture of the mesh and the smooth, wet surfaces of the formwork, creating soft highlights against the cool grey of the concrete. Mist clings low to the earth, softening the distant edges of the construction materials. A small puddle near the base of the stand reflects the pale sky and the lower section of the yellow machinery.
