Spilled Inventory in Paris

Bright pink peonies and green eucalyptus spill over the edge, their stems tangled with a discarded pearl-white porcelain rim from a broken vase nearby. One grease-sheened kettle lid rests upside down on a stack of damp newspapers, catching the sun’s harsh angle. In the background, a wooden deck chair sits empty against a wall of faded blue shutters, its canvas cushion cover slightly frayed.
