Smoldering Vineyard Cane Pile at Tea Plantation Edge

by Willa Avila

Copper-toned light spills across the rural edge where a pile of pruned grapevines smolders gently. The wood, dark and charred, releases thin wisps of gray smoke that drift upward into the humid air. Between the rows of the tea plantation, irrigation water glistens on the soil, reflecting the fading horizon glow. The ground remains damp from recent rain, turning the earth into a deep, rich brown that contrasts with the ash-gray tips of the burning branches. A few green tea leaves rest on the foreground, wet and heavy, while the smoke curls lazily over the damp earth. The fire's small orange embers glow faintly against the cooling blue shadows of the approaching dusk.
