Thick grey smoke billows upward from a cylindrical charcoal kiln situated on a concrete loading dock. The structure stands tilted against the sky, framed by a Dutch angle that emphasizes its mechanical severity. Warm firelight glows from the kiln's base, casting an orange hue on the wet metal surfaces and the dark, rain-slicked ground. Low-hanging monsoon clouds press down on the horizon, creating a heavy, grey backdrop that contrasts with the industrial heat source. Rain droplets rest on the corrugated metal walls of the dock, while the surrounding forest trees blur into the distance under the heavy atmospheric moisture. The smoke drifts slowly across the frame, merging with the overcast sky. One puddle on the concrete reflects the orange glow of the fire and the grey of the clouds.
