Skier Tucks Through Gate Near Diyarbakir Fields

Soft, diffused light from a sky heavy with dramatic clouds covers the packed snow where a skier in a dark racing suit tucks low around a red and white super-G gate. The athlete's knees bend sharply against the resistance of the turn, skis carving a clean line across the white surface. Behind the racer, open fields stretch out, their grasses dormant in muted browns and pale greens, marking the turn of seasons. Fine powder sprays from the ski edges, falling back to the ground beside the track. The low angle view places the snow texture in the immediate foreground, showing the rough, granular surface where the skis grip the slope.
