Silvery Winter Light Over Harvest Apple Orchard

Freshly wet soil lines the irrigation rows, reflecting the pale, diffused glow of a late-night sky. Heavy branches laden with dark red apples bow low over the damp earth, their bark slick with a fine drizzle. The leaves, tinged with early autumn gold, cluster thickly against the trunks. Water beads on the waxy skin of the fruit and drips steadily from the tips of the lowest twigs. Wooden stakes support the weight of the boughs, standing straight in the mud. The ground glistens with a thin sheen of moisture, and the distant row ends fade into the gray mist of the drizzle. One drop falls from a leaf tip onto a wooden stake, creating a tiny, dark spot on the wet wood.
