Silk Scarves and Snow in Charlottetown Market

Bright late-afternoon sun illuminates the right side of a Charlottetown bazaar stall where a vendor arranges vibrant silk scarves against a damp fish counter. The fabric shimmers with reds and golds, resting on wet wood that reflects the clear daylight. On the left half of the frame, heavy snowflakes drift downward in a stark, impossible winter storm, coating the same scarves and the vendor's hands in white. The contrast is absolute; one side gleams in autumn warmth while the other freezes in sudden cold. A metal awning above catches the morning light, its edge sharp against the falling flakes. The vendor's fingers, dusted with snow, adjust a folded silk edge where the white flakes meet the bright red fabric.
