Silhouetted Hop Strings Rattle in Wind

Bright midmorning light falls through the remaining leaves of vineyard trellises near Skopje, casting sharp shadows and warm highlights across the frame. Thin strings of dried hops hang vertically, their brittle brown pods trembling in sudden gusts of wind. The sky behind the trellis structure is a pale, clearing blue, marking the recent passage of a storm. Fallen leaves and damp soil cover the ground below, reflecting gray tones from the overcast sky. The hop strings appear as dark silhouettes against the bright background, their texture rough and weathered by the elements. Water droplets rest on lower leaves, catching the light before sliding down the stalks. One wet leaf rests on the bottom of a wooden post.
