Silhouetted Folk Costume by Bogota River Flowers

Rain-slicked cobblestones reflect the fading orange glow of a Chapinero sunset as a folk dance costume stands in sharp silhouette against the dimming sky. The garment, heavy with embroidery and layered fabrics, rests near clusters of river flowers that bend under the weight of the rainy season drizzle. Water droplets rest on the intricate lace and stiff velvet, darkening the colors to deep indigos and charcoals. The square remains empty of dancers, holding only the anticipation of the gathering. Wet pavement mirrors the dark shapes of the costume and the fragile blooms, while a fine mist blurs the background architecture into soft gray tones. one drop of water slides down the hem of the skirt, tracing a path through the dust.
