Silhouetted Artillery Battery at Tibetan Sunset

Copper-hued light spills over the jagged ridge line, casting the heavy artillery battery into a stark, dark silhouette. The equipment stands motionless in the narrow checkpoint lane, its angular forms merging with the encroaching twilight. Peak autumn leaves on the surrounding slopes have turned a muted russet, against the deepening blue of the sky. The ground is dusty and uneven, marked by the tracks of heavy vehicles. A low barrier of stone and wire runs along the lane edge, separating the machinery from the open valley. The final glow of the sun creates a sharp, glowing edge along the top of the gun barrel, highlighting the metal's curve against the fading sky.
