Shopping Cart Corral in Abeokuta Rain

Soft gray light from the overcast sky washes over a cluster of red shopping carts locked inside a metal corral on the wet pavement of an Abeokuta supermarket. Drizzle beads on the polished chrome handles and the curved plastic wheels, creating sharp, distorted reflections that stretch across the slick concrete floor. The leading lines of the corral fence guide the gaze toward the automatic glass doors standing closed in the early morning stillness. Water droplets slide down the vertical bars, merging into small rivulets that race toward the drainage grates. The red paint on the cart frames appears saturated and heavy against the muted tones of the rainy season. A final reflection of a distant streetlamp shimmers briefly on the wet ground before fading.
