Shakuhachi Flute on Tatami Mat Night Light

Warm amber string lights cast a soft glow across the textured surface of a natural bamboo shakuhachi flute resting on a woven tatami mat. The flute's nodes and grain stand out against the pale green straw weave, while deep shadows gather in the corners of the room beyond the immediate light pool. Faint reflections dance on the smooth, lacquered end of the instrument, against the rough, organic texture of the mat. Outside the window, the darkness of a Kamakura night presses against the glass, offering no view but a solid black backdrop. The light settles gently over the bamboo, highlighting the subtle variations in the material's color from honey to deep brown. A small dust mote floats in the beam of light near the flute's mouthpiece, suspended in the still air.
