Sea Wind Lifts White Napkins at Maputo Resort Terrace

Bright noon light floods the outdoor terrace beneath a broad concrete porte cochere in Maputo. The wet season air hangs heavy, visible in the sheen on the polished floor tiles and the slight swelling of white linen napkins on the dining tables. Strong sea gusts catch the edges of the cloth, pulling them upward into sharp, translucent curves against the deep blue of the ocean horizon. Wooden tables and chairs sit arranged in neat rows, their surfaces gleaming with recent moisture. Concrete pillars create strong vertical lines that guide the view toward the waiting sea. The fabric ripples with kinetic energy, against the stillness of the empty chairs and the flat, unshadowed glare of the midday sun. One napkin corner flutters near a glass of water, catching the light.
