The metal gleams with a warm, oily luster against the dry, grainy powder scattered across the surface. Beside the scale, the faint outline of a fish counter creates a sharp juxtaposition of textures, though the focus remains tight on the spice trader's hands adjusting the weights. Heat ripples visibly above the stall under the canvas tarp, blurring the background slightly. Fine particles of spice rest on the rim of the scale's beam, catching the harsh tropical sun. at the edge is a single grain of saffron resting on the edge of the brass pan, isolated against the dark wood.
