Rusted Bicycle Rack in Chicago

A rusted steel bicycle rack bolted to the concrete sidewalk anchors the frame under the flat noon light of Chicago. The metal surface shows deep orange oxidation and scattered white scuff marks from years of urban wear. One black rubber bicycle tire rests against the curved iron bar, its tread pattern sharp and distinct. Small grey pebbles and a crumpled brown paper bag lie in the shadow cast by the rack.
