Soft, diffused light from a post-rain sky illuminates the lime-green spirals of a Romanesco broccoli floret. The vegetable rests directly upon the wet, tan sand of a dune field near Port Harcourt. Fine water droplets rest on the geometric conical buds and the surrounding soil. A thin layer of fog hovers just above the dry wadis in the background, blurring the horizon line. The scale shifts from the microscopic detail of the vegetable's surface to the vast, rippled expanse of the dunes. Shadows are subtle and soft, showing the three-dimensional structure of the spirals without harsh contrast. at the edge is a single water bead sliding down the curve of a cone into the sand below.
