Beside her, a row of tarnished copper pots hangs from a wrought-iron rack, catching the sharp afternoon light that streams through a high, narrow window. A striped towel is draped over the back of a wooden chair, its fabric worn and soft. On the counter, a small glass bottle of olive oil sits next to a ceramic toothbrush holder repurposed as a utensil rest.
