Warm candlelight glows across a whole roasted chicken resting on a wooden board, its skin shimmering with a golden-brown sheen. The board sits on a small bedside table in a Liulichang room, surrounded by the soft, copper-toned light of late spring dusk. Shadows pool in the corners, deepening the sense of quiet intimacy. The wood grain of the table is visible, against the smooth, oily surface of the poultry. One candle flame flickers nearby, casting dancing highlights on the chicken's crisp skin. The edges of the frame cut closely around the meal, showing the texture of the roasted skin and the grain of the wood.
