Flashbulbs from cameras pop in rhythmic bursts, illuminating faces turned upward and notebooks held aloft. The concrete balustrades gleam with reflected glare, while the dark void of the square behind them swallows the distant trees. Microphones extend like a forest of metal rods toward the unseen speakers. The scene rests on the rigid geometry of the architecture, anchored by the bright, unforgiving beam cutting across the crowd's dark clothing.
