Rain-slicked Brooklyn brownstone stoop reflects the pale, diffused morning sky while a damp yellow raincoat hangs loosely over a rusted iron railing, its hood slumped and heavy with water. Beside the coat, a coiled green garden hose snakes across the wet granite steps, its rubber surface gleaming under the flat light. A brass door latch on the peeling green front door catches a faint, sharp highlight, against the matte stone.
