Prism Light Refraction in Santa Teresa Museum in on a museum plinth in Santa Teresa del Tuy

Prism Light Refraction in Santa Teresa Museum

by Ethan Swain

A glass prism rests on a dark museum plinth, catching the last blue twilight filtering through high windows. Neon signs from the street cast sharp, electric reflections across the glass facets, splitting the ambient light into distinct bands of violet, cyan, and white. The cool season air settles in the room, leaving the stone surface of the plinth with a matte, dusty texture. Deep shadows pool in the corners of the display case, against the bright, fractured beams of light that dance across the glass. A thin line of warm amber shadow falls along the right edge of the base, at the base of the cool tones in the room's interior warmth.
