Symmetrical Prism Spectrum in Skylit Leganés Passage

by Jason Gray

A clear crystal prism rests on a smooth, pale stone ledge within a narrow indoor passageway in Leganés. Midday sun pierces through sheer white curtains, slicing the air into distinct, bright shafts where fine dust particles float in the dry season air. The light passes through the glass facets, fracturing into a sharp, geometric spectrum of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. The projection lands on the floor in a perfect, symmetrical fan shape, mirroring the prism's position. Hard shadows define the edges of the glass, while the spectrum creates a vivid band of color against the neutral beige tiles. One ray of white light cuts diagonally across the red edge of the rainbow, ending the composition with a stark line of brightness.
