Low sun breaks the horizon haze, casting a thin golden line that reflects off the monsoon-soaked surfaces. Ropes drape across the equipment, their fibers heavy with moisture, while spray-painted markings in faded red and blue stand out against the gray metal. Laminated permits hang from the frame, their plastic faces slick and unreadable at a distance yet clearly structured. Tags flutter slightly in the damp air, attached by wire to the rigid steel. The ground around the base is churned into dark, wet earth, holding the weight of the raw materials. One raindrop slides down the edge of a metal bracket, catching the first light of dawn.
