Pot Lid in Hong Kong

Warm late afternoon light spills across the narrow alleyway of Sheung Wan, illuminating a cluttered service entrance where a vendor balances a stack of stainless steel woks. A pair of hands, calloused and dusted with flour, carefully lifts a heavy pot lid, releasing a plume of steam that catches the golden hour glow. Beside the cooking station, a pair of garden shears rests on a plastic crate, unused but present, hinting at the small courtyard garden tucked behind the kitchen door.
