A standard poodle stands centered on a rain-darkened curb in a small Brighton and Hove yard, its clipped coat displaying tight, sculpted curls that catch the damp air. The animal maintains a composed, weathered dignity as fine rain blurs the background of neatly trimmed grass into soft green bokeh. Late afternoon light falls through open shade, creating gentle contrast on the muzzle and defining the distinct ear set without harsh shadows. Water droplets rest on the dark fur along the neck and legs, showing the texture of the grooming. The wet pavement reflects a muted gray sky, at the base of the subject in a realistic, lived-in domestic setting where the boundary between the garden and the street is softened by the drizzle. A brass collar tag glints faintly against the damp black fur near the shoulder.
