Pollen Grains on Velvet Near Dortmund

Golden pollen grains rest atop deep black velvet, their spiky textures catching the flat glare of noon. Pale walls bounce broad skylight across the woven linen fibers bordering the fabric. In the upper right corner, the impossible sky splits: the left side glows with bright daylight while the right dissolves into a star-filled night. Lamplight settles softly into the shadows near the edge of the frame. The velvet pile absorbs the light, creating deep contrasts against the bright pollen. One grain near the bottom left casts a sharp shadow onto the dark weave, anchoring the surreal transition.
