A narrow alley in Osu glows under the harsh wash of a sodium-vapor streetlamp, illuminating a makeshift workspace where a cobbler polishes a pair of black leather shoes. Beside him, a small wooden stool holds a tin of polish and a brush with worn bristles. The ground is paved with uneven concrete slabs, reflecting the orange light in slick patches. A faded blue tarp covers a stack of materials in the shadows, while a metal drying rack stands empty against the wall, its bars casting long, sharp geometric shadows across the dust.
