Polished Agate Cross Section on Frosty Window in along a frost-edged windowpane in Sharjah

Polished Agate Cross Section on Frosty Window

by Blake McLeod

Vivid bands of translucent orange, deep brown, and milky white spiral through the polished stone, catching the low angle of late-afternoon sun. The agate rests directly against a windowpane where intricate frost patterns etch the glass, their crystalline edges sharp against the stone's smooth surface. Sheer curtains diffuse the daylight, casting soft, shifting shadows across the mineral's concentric rings. To the right, the cool blue of the winter glass contrasts with the warm amber glow of a nearby lamplight settling into the room's corner. Negative space frames the object, isolating the geological detail against the blurred interior. A thin line of ice crystals rests on the bottom edge of the window frame.
