Pigeons just after sunrise in Krakow
by Eli Wong
A cluster of gray pigeons huddles on the warm, sun-dusted stone sill of a Gothic window in Krakow just after sunrise. Their iridescent neck feathers catch the low morning light, against the rough, weathered texture of the medieval limestone beneath their claws. A few scattered crumbs of dark rye bread lie near their talons, evidence of a quiet morning breakfast in the Old Town. One bird turns its head sharply, its dark eye reflecting the pale blue sky above the distant spires.
