Newsstand Under Rail Overpass in Mwanza Noon

Wet concrete slabs reflect the harsh noon glare beneath a massive steel rail overpass in Mwanza. A closed newsstand stands shuttered along the arcade, its corrugated metal doors painted faded blue and yellow. Rain-soaked pavement glistens under the flat coastal light, pooling around the metal legs of the kiosk. Green vines rest on the concrete pillars supporting the tracks above, their leaves heavy with moisture. The overpass casts a sharp, geometric shadow that cuts across the wet street, against the bright, washed-out sky visible between the steel beams. Water droplets bead on the metal roof of the stand, sliding slowly toward the edge where they drip onto the slick ground. A discarded plastic bag rests against the base of the kiosk, caught in a small puddle reflecting the gray sky.
