Rain-slicked asphalt reflects the pale, diffused sky above a narrow Harlem sidewalk where a bodega owner in a blue uniform stands beside a stack of wet cardboard boxes. The first light catches the sheen on a discarded plastic tray and the faded red signage of a corner store, while steam rises from a nearby grate, blurring the line between pavement and air. A yellow taxi idles in the background, its headlights cutting through the mist, illuminating puddles that mirror the brick facades of brownstones.
