The wet asphalt of a New York City street reflects the pale gray sky after a morning rain, creating a glossy surface that mirrors the passing traffic and pedestrians. A yellow taxi cab moves slowly through the frame, its tires kicking up fine mist from the puddles accumulated in the cracked pavement. Pedestrians hurry along the sidewalk, their umbrellas closed but their coats damp, navigating around a street vendor’s cart that sits slightly askew. The vendor arranges fresh produce under a clear plastic sheet, protecting the bright oranges and leafy greens from the lingering drizzle. Steam rises from a nearby manhole cover, blending with the cool morning air.
